Controlling Wildlife Punishment Into Household Pets

Posted in Current Events on January 30th, 2012 by Bill Syer – Be the first to comment

Unfortunately animal cruelty is something that happens in every state, and usually in every city. Whether consciously or unconsciously, people are abusing animals everywhere. But there’s plenty that you can do to make sure that their abuse is stopped and that they can be rescued, according to SPCAI.

When it comes to your dog or cat, you’ve got to make sure that you’re getting them the care that they need. That means visiting the vet for treatment, and for staying up to date on their shots.

While it may not seem like your vehicle can get too hot when you’re just going to have them out there for a few minutes while you run into the store, it only takes a few moments for the average car to hit 100 degrees in hot weather.

There are always things that you can do to prevent animal cruelty where you live. More often than not there has to be an animal control agency near you, and you’re able to call them so that they can be alerted to a problem where you live.

A big part of taking care of your dogs is having them spayed or neutered if you’re not going to breed them. It’s the responsible thing to do because there are already too many puppies in the US and not enough homes. That’s why SPCA International is overwhelmed with animals in need of rescue services.

For example, if you buy your dog at a pet store, you’re actually doing the wrong thing. No matter what they say, more often than not this is supporting puppy mills.

You have to take that extra step to be sure that nothing can happen. Even if you think that your pet is under control, and will never end up in a situation where they can create some puppies, you never know.

So even though that Jack Russell Terrier might look ridiculously cute in the window, you should look to a breeder if you want to find a particular breed. That’s where you’re safe in finding the right dog without supporting a Mill.

How Independent Voter Choices Shape The Political Landscape

Posted in Current Events on January 18th, 2012 by Lois Gordon – Be the first to comment

Few average voters think about the importance of the independent voter, even if they fit that description themselves. So much attention is given to the role of traditional parties that many people simply fail to realize that most candidates simply cannot achieve electoral victory without gaining the support of a sizable number of independents.

Independents are not difficult to categorize in terms of what they are, but they can be difficult to pin down when it comes to their overall beliefs. As a group, they are simply voters unaffiliated with the major or minor parties. This leads them to vote for candidates regardless of which party those candidates represent.

This obviously poses some challenges to candidates who are trying to identify potential voters. These candidates have to try to identify the issues that are important not only to their base of supporters, but to those independents as well. This dynamic has some distinct advantages for the political system, but some disadvantages as well.

On the plus side, the existence of this large group of nonaligned voters prevents most candidates from adopting positions that are at the extreme of any ideological base. Because many independents are self-described moderates, party candidates must moderate their own positions so that they do not alienate these voters.

The negative aspect of this moderation is equally easy to understand. Independents shift their allegiance so often that they effectively cause government to swing back and forth between one party or the other. That prevents any one party from sustaining a majority long enough to enact any long-term legislative agenda. This results in legislative goals constantly being realigned, and often prevents any real change from occurring.

Still, the benefits of having that many truly nonaligned voters far outweighs the drawbacks in most analyst’s estimation. Because they tend to contribute to a sustained level of moderation in the political realm, the independent voter population remain a vitally important part of the electorate.

The National Flag Of Cameroon

Posted in Current Events on January 16th, 2012 by Ken Naylor – Be the first to comment

The national banner of Cameroon has been used as the country’s official flag from African flag poles ever since ’75, after Cameroon became an independent state. Called a “tricolor”, which means that the flag is made up of three horizontal bands, it shows yellow, red and green.

Cameroon came into existence some fifty years ago, when French Cameroun (which became independent back in 1960) and British Cameroon were united. The new republic nation introduced a tricolor type flagshortly thereafter. This flag displayed and still displays up till this day the colors green, red and yellow.

Africa is known for its historic flags. The Cameroon flag shows three stripes, and displays a yellow star on the center red colored band. Changes were made over the years, and one such change includes the yellow star. Two stars were initially shown, and were then put on the green vertical band of the Cameroonian tricolor. This was changed some year later.

The applied scheme displays colors that have been used on African banners throughout this continent. These colors are also called the “Pan-African” colors. Flag historians have said that the design used for the Cameroon tricolor is in fact based on the the “Tricolore.” The previous flag showed almost an identical use of colors.

Unlike some other nations, Cameroon I have been told enjoys high stability in terms of the country’s political and social situation. Developments, including heavier industries have been important to the country’s economical development. A substantial part of the Cameroonian population live their lives in poverty.

Previous historic flags are attached to African flag poles at times during Cameroonian events. A number of countries today live by their flag code, including the United States of America. The study of banners is one of my favorite hobbies.

Trendy international flags for sale this season include: the cameroon flag, the egyptian flag and others.

Roger Williams Texas 2012 Senate Candidate

Posted in Current Events on April 22nd, 2011 by Derek Thomas – Be the first to comment

Former Texas Secretary of State Roger Williams is going to run for the US senate this election season, thus far he’s collected recommendations from many well known political figures, including President George Bush who supported his candidacy. Similar to almost all of the conservative hopefuls he supports a well balanced budget and says that he would definitely approve a law which will make it unlawful for the government to overspend the approximated budget for the budgetary year.

Roger Williams recommended shrinking government by implementing enormous reform with entitlement packages such as social security and Medicare health insurance. Williams wants to privatize social security in an effort to get the money from the financially reckless federal government and devote that money within the private sector for investments. Medicare beneficiaries should be granted a check so that they can determine their medical care with the private industry in an effort to discover the cheapest and most beneficial solutions to health related needs.

Williams approves of either a flat as well as FairTax strategy and believes either program would be better than today’s messy tax code that provides clauses to get out of paying taxes as well as hindrances to corporations that are trying to thrive. A flat tax would institute a predetermined percentage that each individual pays on earnings and takes away the complicated tax rules altogether. The Fair tax would remove all federal, state and other taxation and put into practice a product sales tax where you spend the money for taxes on bought items.

Just like all republican 2012 challengers inside the state Williams discusses the concern of illegal laborers by expressing we should increase border security and establish a hard stand on workers that come across the international border illegitimately, his campaign website doesn’t express precisely how he would accomplish this. Williams pushes harder by declaring those who line up and wish to live in America lawfully should be expected to master English and that we ought to put forth legislation to make English our official vernacular for the United States.

Williams discusses social conservative issues as well and declares he has positively always been Against abortion and believes that after an egg is germinated existence commences and will not stop until all natural death, he reports he would not want anyone ‘messing’ with 2nd amendment legal rights, and he emphasizes a marriage consists of a single male and a single woman. He would take the position to combat any law that attempts to revise marriage.

Roger Williams should have a powerful support system for the reason that he is a well-recognized figure compared with several of the alternative republican contenders for the senate. He was initially chosen by Rick Perry to the position as Secretary in 2005 till he abandoned it in ’07 to discover other career opportunities. He may have an excellent early advantage if he can raise cash for his senate run.

Growth Leads To Change For Sun Peaks Community

Posted in Current Events on April 22nd, 2011 by Christina Workman – Be the first to comment

The Sun Peaks community was designated Canada’s first mountain resort municipality in June of 2010. The town is north of Kamloops in the British Columbia interior. Being incorporated will allow the local citizens, through their first elected mayor and municipal council, to control their own destiny. Since the designation, a local school has opened and bylaws have been approved. A new composting facility is also in the works. The city will now be eligible to receive a portion of the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST), I also can levy taxes if it becomes necessary. Growth and change are inevitable as the resort becomes more well known.

Al Raine, elected Sun Peaks’ first mayor, was involved in the growth of Whistler in the 1970s and 80s. He helped it develop into one of the world’s great ski resorts. Senator Nancy Greene Raine, the mayor’s spouse and an Olympic gold medalist, is the resort’s director of skiing. Their visibility and influence can only help as the ares develops into an international destination.

The first school in the resort, organized by a group of parents, opened in September 2010. The Sun Peaks Discovery Center for Balanced Education is situated at the top of one of the ski lifts. The school, for grades K-5, received a $30,500 donation taken out of the the mayor’s and council’s stipends. On line learning is a big part of the program. Mayor Raine called the opening a defining moment in Sun Peaks community history.

A new noise control bylaw was recently enacted after public input. It breaks the community down into three noise districts. The residential area has the lowest decibel limit. The village core, with it’s nightlife, has the highest limit while the tourist accommodation area is in the middle.

A composting facility is in the planning stages. Sun Peaks Utilities has concluded that as the community continues to grow, it is no longer viable to truck waste out of town. They have also stated that setting up this operation will probably impact utility rates.

The city now has the ability to levy taxes. Even though it is an option, the mayor and council do not anticipate this happening for at least a few years. Funds from the HST should carry the town.

These changes are the price of growth. The Sun Peaks community trusts the mayor and municipal council to make decisions in the best interest of the resort and it’s residents. So far it seems to be working.

Paul Beats Obama In Poll For The 2012 Election

Posted in Current Events on April 11th, 2011 by Derek Thomas – Be the first to comment

Conservative Texas representative Ron Paul, may just be looking at a run in 2012 following his trip to NH March 24th. While there he he criticized conservatives for lowering National Public Radio government aid while at the same time authorizing billions of funds to the conflict within Iraq and Afghanistan. Ron Paul was also in Iowa several weeks ago and said, that if American citizens don’t have a presidential hopeful that’s financially competent to manage the financial meltdown then he would have no other choice than to announce his candidacy. Ron Paul’s son Rand Paul and newly chosen American Kentucky Senator proclaimed he may announce his candidacy if perhaps his dad makes the decision not to.

While most of the conservative challengers are anticipated to make announcements relatively soon, The Texas congressman has still remained on the fence with regards to running for president. However as the additional prospects officially go into the election, it may offer a reason for Paul to run against unfavorable competitors. Paul has led within the CPAC polls both in 2010 and 2011 and it could possibly be because of his genuine speeches on the issues of government waste. Congressman Paul’s motivation for trying to get the position as President of the United States is definitely to solve This country’s problems, instead of self-centered motives. Nevertheless, he wonders about making it through the actual republican elections. Congressman Paul desires to reduce government spending and regulations within an serious manner and feels most of the time that republicans are not for a reduced American government. Having hardly any United States involvement in oversea wars and building diminished federal government participation on family value issues has some christian republicans worried.

Looking at the latest Rasmussen poll, Paul is basically tied with Barack Obama in the event the normal election would begin right now. This is certainly far better than the other conservative prospects which are somewhat behind Barack Obama in the same polls. Additionally Ron Paul has an unbelievably large lead among independent Americans , 42 percent for Republican congressman Ron Paul to President Barack Obama’s 28 percent.

Ron Paul will likely need to confront the christian conservatives in Iowa that feel concerned on the subject of his position on gay and lesbian marriage. Congressman Paul has stated continuously he is in opposition to legal guidelines on the national level that limit privileges to individuals consequently he cast a vote to repeal “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” within the armed forces. He has said that gays shouldn’t be terminated if they’re not causing a disruption. Then again, The Texas congressman will not help support laws that approves gay and lesbian unions on a federal level. Ron Paul is convinced laws and regulations that manage these kinds of concerns really should be dealt with by states.

As part of his dialog in Iowa Paul has juxtaposed our present federal government to a a crowned monarchy, where we now have a king that’s taking all our money through taxes and regulating us so much that our whole government is breaking. He explained satirically we don’t depend on our loved ones, but alternatively the American government and have supplied them overall control in regards to our revenue. He said metaphorically that people in America now put our revenue and our trust in a false god and we have to modify that kind of trust.

Republican congressman Ron Paul suggests the United States citizens are actually too submissive with enabling the US government to get rid of personal protections, to solve this he brought in a law to our lawmakers that was prepared in a single passage stating the government should never have the ability to do anything whatsoever which American people don’t have the right to do.

New York City’s Most Delicious Types Of Sandwiches

Posted in Current Events on February 14th, 2011 by Todd Pinto – Be the first to comment

When it comes to sandwiches, New York has some pretty good ones. A lot of people associate New York sandwiches with the Jewish Deli’s like 2nd Avenue Deli and Russ and Daughters Appetizers, but New York has a lot more sandwiches to offer than that.

With influences from all over the world, NYC has some amazing sandwich stores. Here are some of my favorites.

Tiny’s Giant Sandwich shop on the Lower East Side was closed for a while, but recently reopened much to the joy of many patrons. This place has a cult following and with good reason. Two of the best sandwiches here include the “Spicy Rizzack” and the “Veggiest Of Them All,” a vegetarian sandwich that is big enough to satisfy any meat eater.

Avid Articles Free Content For Your Website Ezine or Blog avidarticles.com - is one more helpful article.

Nicky’s Vietnamese Sandwiches. – Banh Mi is in style in a big way in New York, possibly due to the cheapness of the sandwiches in these tough times.

The Panama at Torissi Italian Specialties – Fresh roasted turkey, lettuce, tomato, spicy aioli and mayo on a hero. This is some of the best turkey I have ever had.

Num Pang – This Cambodian style sandwich shop is located just south of Union Square and serves up some delicious sandwiches. Highlights include the tiger shrimp sandwich with cilantro, cucumber, shrimp and spicy mayo on a baguette.

For a great healthy sandwich, try Bite on Lafayette Street. The spicy middle eastern turkey sandwich consists of smoked turkey, greens, tomatoes, hummus and spicy sauce. Get it on whole wheat bread for an extra health fix.

Alidoro – Located in Soho on Sullivan Street between Prince Street and Spring Street, this sandwich shop serves up the best sandwich I have ever had. They specialize in cured meats, such as prosciutto and sopressata. The sandwiches are enormous and simple. No mayo, no ketchup, no mustard, none of that. Just a little bit of house made olive oil and maybe some arugula. When it comes to Italian sandwiches, it does not get better than this one.
