Top TV Comedies

Monty Python’s Flying Circus

This mockumentary is perhaps only shadowed by one-other; This Is Spinal Tap. But because it’s technically a film, The Office gets to be crowned the best mockumentary on television. Ricky Gervais made his arrogant and pompous character, David Brent, a much loved and hated household name, with the antics of the Slough office often used as a comparison to our own working environments. Winner of numerous awards including two Golden Globes, The Office’s understated, sarcastic and witty premise deserves to be in this list.

Monty Python’s Flying Circus

Monty Python’s Flying Circus was revolutionary in the world of comedy. Their approach to humour was seen by many as absurd, with only a handful of people at the time realising the genius of this comedy group. It didn’t take long, however, for people to catch on and now almost everyone agrees that the Monty Python sketches and films changed the way the world looks at comedy.

The Simpsons

Every week for two decades, this panel-based news show has brought us the latest headlines with a no-nonsense twist. The stars of the show are always Paul Merton and Ian Hislop who have been panel captains from the start, but every week new guests and guest hosts are brought in to spice the show up, often resulting in highly controversial jokes about celebrities and politicians, some of whom also appear on the show.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Written by and starring comedy genius, Ricky Gervais, this mockumentary has become a national institution. Broadcast in many countries around the world and even adapted into an American version starring Steve Carrell, The Office’s understated script and acting hilariously illustrates the working relationships between colleagues in an office environment. The programme clearly has universal appeal as it’s won two Golden Globe awards.

The Simpsons

The Simpsons may be a cartoon, but it’s certainly not just for children. The cartoon is very clever in poking fun at and highlighting our (or more precisely, American) behaviours and attitudes towards politics, family, friends, religion and work. Today, Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie and many other of the cast are household names.

A Guide To Buying Funny T-Shirts

Posted in Humor on January 5th, 2012 by Ben Mosley – Be the first to comment

For the purposes of this article, let us pretend that you are one of the rare souls who have never bought anything on the World Wide Web before in your whole life. One day, you see someone wearing a shirt that you find absolutely hilarious. You ask that person, “Hey…where do you buy funny t-shirts like that?” They say that you get them on the Internet, of course! Now you have to crack your knuckles and tread out into the dangerous waters of Internet Commerce to find those funny t-shirts you want so very badly. You open up your preferred search engine, type in “funny t-shirts”, and settle down for your first digital shopping experience.

When you search the Internet for funny t-shirts, you’re going to certainly be overwhelmed by how many options you have. There are simply too many to count, and you’ll never make it through them all. You need to pick one out that suits your needs and dive right in, or else you’ll go into information overload and never make a good selection. You can look through the first few funny t-shirts on several sites until you find one that suits your sense of humor. Now we have a good place to really start shopping.

You need to do a little digging first before you start throwing money at a company you know nothing about. You can find out lots of information, just by returning to your search engine and performing a search of the company’s name. You can find their social bookmarks, what other people have to say about them, and what kind of fan base they’ve built on social networks. If this information is suspiciously absent or is mostly negative, you know you need to stay away.

The next thing you should do, if time permits, is to buy just one shirt. If you spend a lot of money on several funny t-shirts, then you won’t have the cash to buy from somewhere else if your shopping experience turns sour. You will also have the opportunity to see how smoothly their operation works. How fast you get your order and the worth of that product when it arrives is very important to any consumer. This way, you can scout the company out before you dedicate yourself to further purchases.

If a company treats you badly or you are not happy with the quality of your new funny t-shirts, make sure you leave a customer review somewhere on the Internet. Mention the company’s name and leave a thorough, but honest review of the company so that others will not fall into the same trap that you have. The Internet may thrive on anonymity, but that doesn’t mean that faceless companies should get away with mistreating customers.

Funny T-Shirts For Funny People

Posted in Humor on April 22nd, 2011 by Roger Mills – Be the first to comment

Whenever a function is held that attracts scores and scores of people, you will inevitably see funny t-shirts there. These functions can be as small as a trip to the bar or as large as a massive outdoor festival.

The problem with funny t-shirt is that comedy is purely subjective. You may be a huge Jeff Foxworthy fan, but George Carlin may be more my cup of tea. No one can refute that either one of those comedians are funny, but they might not make everyone laugh all of the time. The same thing is true for funny t-shirts, which is why there are so many different kinds of funny t-shirt out there for sale. Just for analytical purposes, I’ve presented a list of the top five types of funny t-shirt buyers.

1. The Frat Guy is a deceptive moniker, because he can be virtually any age. The Frat Guy is most typically seen wearing a funny t-shirt that is pulled directly from the most popular comedy films that are released during his time in school. They will continue to rehash these jokes multiple times in their lives, buying t-shirts on the subject each time their old shirts wear down.

2. Mr. Hipster will always be too cool to wear funny t-shirts based on jokes that anyone may understand, so they take the opposite route. Mr. Hipster wears shirts that have kittens, horses, puppies, or even unicorns on them. They believe that the gender-bending properties of wearing cute t-shirts is funnier than any intentional joke that someone could tell,

3. There is a creepy individual out there that can only be known as the Sex Freak. Do not worry, ladies. His funny t-shirts may be covered with blatant sexual references, but that is only because they are actually very shy and withdrawn. The funny t-shirts they wear are the only way they feel they can really open up and confront women on any level.

4. At first glance, the Sex Kitten may seem like a perfect match for the Sex Freak. She wears funny t-shirts that are provocative, but she will never synch up with someone like the Sex Freak. She uses the allure of being provocative to manipulate and get free drinks and bars and other functions. While the Sex Freak may be hopeful and spend money on her, she will be leaving with whatever Alpha Male happens to club her over the head and drag her away first.

5. The Drinker is a person who lets alcohol be the foremost thing on their mind and on their funny t-shirts. These people are born for one thing, and that thing comes in a bottle and gets you very inebriated. They have ritualized their partying process to the point that they have a several steps that must be completed before they feel safe enough to go out and have their drink, and one of those steps is always to put on that one shirt that makes them happy to have a beer in their hand.

Trying to name all of the different types of funny t-shirt owner in the world in nigh impossible, but these five can be found nearly anywhere you may find a large group of people. Luckily, we live in a country that allows us to say whatever we want. It’s this ability to wear these clothes that lets us glimpse into the hearts of the people wearing them.

‘Easy A’ Film Delivered Funny Stuff With Emma Stone

Posted in Humor on February 9th, 2011 by Mike Stack – Be the first to comment

Screen Gems released a new comedy/action movie called “Easy A” into theaters a couple of months ago. I just got done watching it,and I agree with the top critics’ positive reviews on this one. It was great.

Ms. Emma Stone should be a comedian because she was a total riot in this flick. Her and Amanda Bynes totally delivered some good drama and comedy. The film stars: Emma Stone, Penn Badgley, Amanda Bynes, Thomas Haden Church, Patricia Clarkson, Cam Gigandet, Lisa Kudrow, Malcolm MacDowell, Aly Michalka, and Stanley Tucci.

“Easy A” centered around character Olive (Stone) who,one day, gives into her friend’s intense desires for her to tell her she finally had sex with a college dude. Soon enough, the rumor spreads like wildfire throughout the school. And,all of a sudden, Olive goes from being unnoticed most of the time to being constantly stared at and talked about. It also doesn’t sit well with self righteous Christian freak Marianne (Bynes). She constantly tells Olive she needs to beg for forgiveness from God.

Things don’t end there. Olive helps out her gay friend Brandon (Byrd) from continuing to get picked on by pretending to have sex with him at a party. From there, the rumors get worse. However, Olive embraces them, and continues to make them stronger by taking offers from more guys. As the hype of her being a whore continue to perpetuate, she plays up the role in more convincing style by wearing skimpy outfits with the letter “A” on them.

However, towards the end,one final incident makes Olive want to set the true record straight. In my opinion, the movie was hysterical as it featured scenes, which showed Olive making fake sex noises with Brandon, lots of fast, witty comebacks,Olive’s mother revealing that she was a whore in her high school days, and more.

The laughs just never stopped in this flick. It was never dull, and kept me extremely entertained the whole time. That Emma Stone is a great actress. This movie made me a fan of hers. It was great to see Amanda Bynes back on the big movie screen . She was hilarious as well. Penn Badgley did a real good job as the cool,low-key guy named Woodchuck Todd. If you want to giggle hard,go watch this movie. I gave it a great “A+” grade.

‘The Rite’ Movie Review

Posted in Humor on February 9th, 2011 by Mike Stack – Be the first to comment

“The Rite” horror/thriller movie recently released into theaters by New Line Cinema. I checked it out,and felt it was pretty good. It showed a lot of extreme exorcism scenes Anthony Hopkins. The flick stars: Anthony Hopkins, Colin O’Donoghue, Alice Braga, Ciaran Hinds, and Rutger Hauer.

The movie revolved around Michael Kovak and Father Lucas Trevant. Michael is a beginning Priest who has issues with his faith. He has trouble believing that the Devil exist as well as so-called Demonic possessions. The movie shows a lot of flashbacks to Michael’s childhood where he first developed his faith issues when his father died.

Michael travels to Italy to learn more about exorcism from Father Lucas because his teacher in America thought he needed to gain some real experience with exorcism since he doubted it a lot. In just a few minutes after arriving at Lucas’ house,Michael gets introduced to his first live exorcism with a girl who is pregnant and experiences frequent possessions.

With very convincing evidence of possession,Michael still shows much doubt in the faith. The victim spat out nails, blood, her voice changed, she became an extreme contortionist, and all other kinds of weird stuff, but Michael still swore she just needed to see a psychiatrist because she’s troubled.

Eventually, Michael starts getting issues of his own, which were brought on by weird dreams he had about his dead father. Father Lucas tries to help him through his issues. However, Michael’s doubting faith gets put to a major test when the demon possesses someone he never thought it would possess, and if Michael doesn’t collect some faith fast, his life and other’s lives are definitely in danger.

Michael and his female friend were in the room during the possession, and things get extremely bad. Finally, with his back up against the wall,Michael is forced to face the issues with his faith, and issues with God so he can overcome what is getting ready to kill him. The conclusion was quite intense and really had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next.

In my opinion, the movie was very entertaining and interesting. However, there were some slow scenes during the film, and I found myself dosing off a bit. However, when things picked up,they really picked up in a very major way. It featured a lot of “can’t miss,” intense scenes. The exorcism scenes were very disturbing and convincing. I gave the movie a B grade.

‘Buried’ Movie Review

Posted in Humor on February 9th, 2011 by Chris Smith – Be the first to comment

Lionsgate recently came out with their new Ryan Reynolds branded,mystery/thriller film entitled “Buried” a while back. I finally checked it out,and agree with the top film critics’ positive opinion of the movie.

It delivered a very creative storyline with lots of drama. Unfortunately, I think I may have developed a slight case of claustrophobia when watching it and imagining if I was buried in a coffin. The flick stars: Ryan Reynolds and Jose Maria Yazpik.

The movie revolved around character Paul Conroy (Reynolds) who is a truck driver over in Iraq, and wakes up to find himself buried alive in a coffin and tied up with nothing but a cigarette lighter, cell phone,a few glow lights, knife, and one flash light. He finds out about all these tools as the movie goes along.

Paul immediately starts panicking. Later on, he’s able to untie himself, get the lighter, and calls everyone he knows. After a couple of answering machines and leaving a couple of messages, he gets connected with a hostage specialist in Iraq who is working quickly to try and find him.

At various points in the film, Paul receives a call from his kidnappers, demanding $5 million dollars from the embassy for his release. Unfortunately,a couple of bombing events make it more difficult for the hostage specialist to find him,and the movie ends with a shocking revelation.

I thought the film was excellent. Even though it was about an hour and 20 minutes of just Ryan Reynolds’ character trapped in a coffin,it still managed to feature some very exciting scenes. There were a few things that caused other things to enter the coffin with him that weren’t good for his health, and it was cool to see what he did to get out of those situations with his very limited resources.

The Buried movie damn near gave me claustrophobia just watching it because these movies are really good at bringing a person’s mind into the world of it,and it was very hard to imagine being trapped in a coffin like that. It had me wondering what the hell I would do if that ever happened to me. It was quite interesting and unique. I gave it a grade A for the authenticity alone.

‘Unstoppable’ Movie Delivered Lots Of Intense Action & More

Posted in Humor on February 7th, 2011 by Chris Smith – Be the first to comment

‘Unstoppable’ action/drama movie was recently released into theaters by 20th Century Fox two months ago. I finally got to watch it,and must say that it was a very, very good movie.

I liked this entire movie from beginning to end. It delivered a lot of “edge of your seat” scenes, along with high drama and action. The flick stars: Denzel Washington, Chris Pine, Rosario Dawson, and Kevin Chapman.

The film is based on real facts that actually happened and revolved around Frank (Denzel Washington) and Will (Chris Pine). The two of them get off too a bumpy start because Frank is a bit upset that they’re giving all the good jobs to the new younger guys. However, they manage to get along well enough to get the train moving on its proper course.

Meanwhile, a very dumb train driver named Dewey (Suplee) decides to hop out of his train while it’s still moving to pull a switch. The train ends up getting away from him with the air breaks detached and the controls set to full throttle. Railroad controller named Connie (Dawson) is made aware of the problem and tries to set some stops in place.

The unmanned, moving train gets to the point where it picks up too much speed for the stops to work. Corporate ignores Connie’s advice to try and derail the train before it makes its way to crowded towns. They try to slow it down from the front, but that fails to work, and the train starts heading for a fatal destination.

Will and Frank end up deciding to go after the unmanned train on their own. They try to stop it from the back with a single car train. However, after a huge effort to attach themselves to the train, they realize that it has way too much power for them to stop it.

The two of them climbed over train cars, pulled the breaks on every car individually, and finally got to the front of the train to stop it. And they were,of course, being covered by lots of TV news stations. I really dug this movie. It was highly entertaining.

It was very simple and to the point. A dangerous unmanned train was on the loose, they needed to stop it. They did it in a very high intense, dramatic fashion that left me saying, “Wow, that was awesome.” I gave this movie a definite A+.

‘Skyline’ Movie Review

Posted in Humor on February 7th, 2011 by Ryan Smith – Be the first to comment

Universal Pictures recently released a new sci-fi/thriller movie “Skyline” into theaters a couple months ago. I just checked it out. While it was exciting to watch, all the action and “edge of your seat scenes” lead up to no payoff in the end. It was very odd. It stars: Eric Balfour, Donald Faison, Scottie Thompson, and Brittany Daniel.

The movie revolved around six partying males and females who have a really great time at a party during the night. However, the next morning, everything changes when weird lights and noises wake everyone up. They end up realizing this new, freakish light isn’t a good thing. As a matter of fact, it controls everyone who looks at it,and takes them away to only God knows where.

The group of friends start to immediately panic, and try to carry out a plan that involved getting in the car,and making a run for it. However they quickly find out that isn’t a good idea as the giant alien creatures show up everywhere, and they’re not friendly. The group of friends start getting killed until they dwindle down to just two people Jarrod and Elaine.

Outside Patio Furniture| Fine Outdoor Furniture » outdoor decorating - is one more helpful article.

They come to emerge as the main stars of the film, but not victorious ones. They run around everywhere, trying to fight off the big creatures, along with the armed forces that have been brought in to fight the monsters.

Skyline showed a lot of graphic,”edge of your seat” moments, which included people getting sucked into the creature, people’s heads being separated from their bodies,Jarrod fighting his heart out to try and save Elaine, lots of guns being fired, and bombs blowing up.

The film capped off with a very strange ending that revealed what the aliens were actually doing, but with absolutely no victorious payoff at all. It was a very odd way to end a high action, thriller flick like this. When I was leaving the theater, I heard one lady say, “I want my money back.” It definitely was not a typical ending for a thriller movie, and was a bit disappointing for me. However, everything before that, was really cool to watch, and kept me on the edge of my seat. I gave this movie a B-.

Online Retail Survival & Profits In 5 Semi-Easy Steps

Posted in Home Based Business on November 27th, 2010 by Rick London – Be the first to comment

When I was mere teen I started my first retail sales job was , my neighbor’s dad’s record store in downtown Hattiesburg, Ms. Sales were a simple thing then. A customer, generally, had heard a song on our local radio station, WXXX, and came in, usually the following Friday or Saturday, and wanted to hear a bit of it on the built in record player. If it was the right song it was usually a sale. Every Friday I got paid in my choice, records or cash or cash and records. I went for the latter.

As years went by, and finally after college, I took jobs in various industries, but always seemed to migrate back to retail. Now I am a cartoonist. In September of 2006, I opened my first online retail store which sold (and continues to sell) tees, mugs and such bearing my offbeat cartoon images.

I studied at an online university from 2002-2006 to learn IT and business, but even it did not prepare me for what was to come. How does one deal with customers in which, more often than not, one is dealing with a computer rather than a human?

Also you can check this useful article Photovoltaic Panels – Solar PV Panels

Four years have now passed since I opened my first online shop, and I now have four more and over 200,000 licensed gifts and tees. Since I do not stock inventory, I use manufacturer/dropshippers who print and deliver my goods, so I have to choose carefully. With my core manufacturer, I made certain I have access to all my customers names and mailing addresses so that I can stay in touch for sales, promotions, etc. If you are able to do that, please do. But don’t expect that kind of respect from the major online POD’s (Print On Demand) firms such as Zazzle, Printfection, Threadless, Cafe Press and the other big dogs. Here are my five steps to online retail survival and even profit.

1. Become “Mr. Or Ms. Knowledge. This does not mean “know it all” or “guru”. It simply means to catalogue useful information and purveying it to others through blogs and article marketing. Eventually existing customers and new ones come to rely on your for good info and google your name. Writing blogs such as this often come from a combination of both reading and experience, and just know that experience provides much greater information (over read material)

2. Utilize Twitter, facebook, Amplify and other social networks; even social bookmark networks such as Furl, Delicious, and others. Many try to dictate the “right” and “wrong” way to do this. In reality, what works for “Fred” will probably not work for “Barney”. Social media is truly not a one-size-fits-all world. Many well known brand businesses use the totally personal approach of having a person trying to juggle all the balls in the air engaging in one-on-one dialogue 24/7. Other companies have so much information, they use a real human person to “tweet” all the while having pre-schuduled “news tweets” going using such systems as Hootsuite or Twaitter. These are also ideal for smaller or mid-size firms that may be on a limited budget but want to have an online presence throughout the day and night. It is particularly effective for my firm since half of our orders are from Europe, and are processed in the middle of the night here in the U.S.

3. Know that we are all working globally now (our customer base) but don’t forget to act in your local community as well. This is one that I procrastinated for a long time, and my wife found a way for me to want to give it a try by creating a very attractive “thank you” packet that we sometimes leave with someone in the service industry who has treated us well. The presentation she created is so unique, it has already proven effective even after only handing out a few of them. We have noticed large orders originating from our own hometown. I don’t spend as much time on this as I believe I should and plan to utilize it more often. I am used to working online but my goal is to balance that. I will report again in a few months to let you know how things evolve.

4. Mark your prices affordably. This time the dot.com bubble appears not to be busting. More and more people are appreciating the convenience of shopping online. But just like in physical stores, people like a good price. One has to make a profit to stay open, but one has to price it within reason so that the market can afford it, or the market will shop elsewhere.

5. Don’t open until you have an inventory. When I say inventory I don’t mean ten or twenty items. Whether you are using a POD manufacturer or making your products locally or dropshipping someone else’s or becoming an associate, fill your page with salable images. I did not start selling until I had a few hundred items in my shops, but it is different for everyone. Now that there are thousands, they are picked up by all the major shopping channels such as Google Shopping, The Find, Shop.com, etc. People rely on these sites for useful retail information and comparison. Fill your store, then open.

Laugh Out Loud With Achmed Toys, And Jeff Dunham

Posted in Humor on August 10th, 2010 by Shaun Baird – Be the first to comment

You have to give credit for those rare moments when some incredibly comical people and times cross through your life.

Achmed the dead terrorist (By Jeff Dunham) is literally one of the funniest things I have ever seen in my life. I must have viewed every one of his videos on the net.

Achmed the death terrorist is cited as being one of the funniest things to hit 2008, 2009, 2010 and beyond. He is a side-splitting puppet (made personally by his owner Jeff) who appears as the skeletal remains of a very poorly executed suicide bomber.

Also you can check this useful article 2010 August 28 | Lifestyle Choices

The most hilarious thing is that Achmed the terrorist if truth be told, doesn’t know that he is dead!

As part of the clowning routine, Achmed will firstly grace you with a fixed stare, his large eyes piercing yours, shouting out “Silence! I Kill you” if you utter any noise(or shrieks of laughter!), and has various other catchphrases and songs.

Ironically there has even been a really funny Christmas song created by Jeff and Achmed, it was called Jingle Bombs! woah!

Amongst the group of comedy puppets from Jeff you can also come across characters such as Walter, Sweet Daddy Dee, Bubba J, Melvin the Superhero guy and Jose the Jalapeno Pepper.

Now, listen, please note that Achmed the dead terrorist hasn’t come without debate. Oh no!

Normally all of Jeff’s puppets have been enthusiastically welcome around the globe but Achmed has been caught red handed with some catchphrases that saw him banned by the South African Advertising Authority because of certain religious comments. This is a sad reflection on the world, when a bit of slapstick goes too far – amusing in the majority, but offensive to a few.

Besides, if you like the thought of this witty character by Jeff Dunham, then Achmed the dead terrorist is back! The next time you could do with a comedy fix then look to Achmed the terrorist suicide bomber puppet. It will make certain your next few minutes are definitely brightened up!

Since his new found reputation there have been a whole host of aftermarket things you can buy, from an achmed the dead terrorist mp3(several of them in fact), an achmed cell phone tone, and plenty of different versions of an achmed the dead terrorist wallpaper. There was even an achmed the dead terrorist christmas special – talk about popular!

You can even obtain your very own Achmed talking doll which has lot’s of his very funny catchphrases ready at the ram of a button.

If you find Achmed Toys hilarious then you are going to love watching and reading everything about Achmed Toys. Mr Dunham is the genius behind this comedy character who makes people cry and has rapidly become a worldwide phenomenon. see these Achmed Toys .
