Irish Drinking T-Shirts, St. Patrick’s Day, And Making Mistakes
Posted in Humor on January 13th, 2012 by Aaron Gaines – Be the first to commentLast St. Paddy’s Day, I woke up without really knowing where I was and what had happened to me. I was in someone’s house that I didn’t know, my face hurt, and my Irish drinking t-shirts were nowhere to be found. I had had way too much fun the previous evening, and I had to figure out how to get home. My story isn’t unique, either. Here’s a list of things to avoid doing on St. Paddy’s Day.
The night of St. Paddy’s Day is and easy night to make some serious mistakes. One of the absolute worst mistakes you can make is to let your beer goggles cloud your better judgment and take home some poor girl who hates herself enough to be someone’s one-night-stand. If you wake up and she’s wearing your Irish drinking t-shirts…just let her have the shirt and leave. It’s not worth rescuing.
Getting so drunk on St. Paddy’s Day that you forget what you’re doing and black out is never a good idea. If you’re one of those people who don’t know how to slow down their drinking and do it responsibly, then you may be full-blooded Irish and truly deserve those Irish drinking t-shirts you wear. If you drink responsibly, most of these other mistakes can be easily avoided.
The last easy mistake to avoid on Saint Patrick’s Day is the basic Irish curse. Do your very best to make sure that the booze that you drink doesn’t tip your already-poor temper in a bad direction. Getting into a huge fight on Saint Patrick’s Day ruins everyone’s fun, so why even bother? If someone makes you mad, just take a few deep breaths and walk in the other direction.
I’m not trying to tell you that you can’t get loaded and have an awesome time. It’s St. Patty’s Day, after all, and you’re not wearing these Irish drinking t-shirts for nothing. Enjoy yourself and remember to maintain a steady level on intoxication without going nuts, and everything should be a-ok!
